What We Found

Before the project, the roof showed clear signs of age with curled shingle edges, patchy granule loss, and dark streaking along the rear slope. Inside, the homeowner had noticed a faint water stain in the upstairs hallway ceiling and wanted to replace the roof before the problem spread.

The Challenge

What Made It Tricky

The home had multiple roof planes and a tight rear section near a covered patio, which made the tear-off and flashing details more involved. We also needed to protect the landscaping and keep the site neat since the house sits close to the street.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

Our crew completed a full tear-off and replaced the soft decking boards we found near the rear eaves. We then installed ice-and-water shield at the valleys and eaves, synthetic underlayment across the roof, and new flashing around the chimney and vent penetrations before finishing with GAF architectural shingles in Weathered Wood.

The Result

The Final Outcome

The finished roof has a clean, even appearance and a much tighter weather barrier than the old system. With new decking repairs, updated flashing, and matching ridge caps in place, the home is ready for heavy rain and winter freeze-thaw cycles.
