How We Got It Done

The Problem

What We Found

Before the replacement, the roof showed clear age with curled edges, faded color, and worn granules collecting in the gutters. The homeowner had also noticed a faint water stain on the upstairs landing ceiling, along with deterioration around the chimney flashing and the rear dormer tie-in.

The Challenge

What Made It Tricky

The home had a steep front pitch and tight detailing around the dormer, so the tear-off and flashing work had to be handled carefully. We also needed to protect a landscaped front yard and a narrow walkway close to the work area.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

We completed a full tear-off, replaced the damaged decking we found near the rear slope, and installed ice-and-water shield at the eaves, valleys, and all key roof transitions. The new system was finished with synthetic underlayment, updated chimney and dormer flashing, and GAF architectural shingles in Charcoal with matching ridge caps.

The Result

The Final Outcome

The finished roof has a clean, even appearance and a much better weather barrier than the old one. The new shingles and flashing blend neatly with the home while giving it stronger protection against rain, wind, and winter ice.
