What We Found

Before the replacement, the roof showed obvious age with curled shingle edges, thinning granules, and dark streaking along the front and rear slopes. The homeowner had also noticed a faint ceiling stain in an upstairs hallway and brittle flashing at the chimney and rear dormer tie-in.

The Challenge

What Made It Tricky

The home had a steep front pitch and tight access near the driveway, so the tear-off and material staging had to be planned carefully. We also needed to keep the work neat around a landscaped side yard and several visible roof transitions.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

We completed a full tear-off and replaced the soft decking boards we found near the rear slope before rebuilding the roof system. Our crew installed ice-and-water shield at the eaves, valleys, and penetrations, then added synthetic underlayment, new flashing, and Owens Corning architectural shingles in Driftwood with matching ridge caps.

The Result

The Final Outcome

The finished roof has a clean, even look and a much tighter weather barrier than the old one. The new shingles and flashing blend well with the home while giving it stronger defense against rain, wind, and winter freeze-thaw cycles.
